Report: A’s, Mariners Discussing Kouzmanoff-Figgins Sw

The A’s are once again shopping Kevin Kouzmanoff, this time to the Seattle Mariners.

Multiple sources are reporting the A’s are talking with the Mariners about trading the former Wolf Pack star to Seattle for Chone Figgins.

The Contra Costa Times speculates the A’s may also send a pitcher to Seattle in the exchange. ESPN’s Buster Olney reports the Blue Jays may also be involved in discussions for Figgins.

Kouzmanoff hit a career-low .247 with a .279 on-base percentage last year in Oakland, but he did lead the team with 16 home runs and 71 RBIs.

Figgins is also coming off a sub-par year when he hit .259 in 161 games with Seattle. He has a limited no-trade clause that includes the A’s.

Earlier this winter, the A’s tried unsuccessfully to lure free-agent third baseman Adrian Beltre to Oakland to replace Kouzmanoff.

What are your opinions.
