Rotation is keeping Mariners afloat

Thirty-three games into the season, the Seattle Mariners are far from being a complete team. However, they have some admirable qualities, including their starting pitching. When Jason Vargas went eight innings and allowed just one run in a 2-1 win over the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday, it marked the ninth time a Seattle starter has gone at least seven innings while giving up zero or one runs.
